The eBay marketplace is rife with merchandise of all stripes, like electronics, clothing, toys, collectibles and memorabilia, even cars, appliances and real estate. If you specialize in a product, chances are you can find customers on eBay. But this isn’t an article for the established business looking to increase its customer base into the online world. Those already have the advantage of knowing their product, their overhead, and have a good idea of their entire marketing and delivery apparatus, which means most of their concerns for starting an online eBay seller’s profile boil down to the smaller details.
No, this article is for you, the college student, or the stay-at-home mom who is looking to generate supplementary income and to be your own boss. If you’ve never owned or operated a business before, if you have little to no experience with logistics, or bookkeeping, processing payments, do not be daunted. Starting a business on eBay is probably one of the most simple things you can do, once you have performed an honest assessment, done a little research and settled on product.
In fact, deciding what you will sell on eBay will be the most important decision you make, so do yourself a favor and consider the matter carefully. Take into account the space that you have to store merchandise, estimate your inventory count, calculate what it will cost you to store and deliver this inventory, and from there build your price structure. When deciding what to sell, you need to take into account all of the above factors before you commit to purchasing your inventory. Ideally, you will want small merchandise that does not require a lot of space to store, that is light enough to ship cheaply, yet that still generates a healthy profit margin for you and will be in at least reasonably high demand to potential customers.
 REFURBISHED PERSONAL ELECTRONICS
The key to selling refurbished personal electronics on eBay is to line up a supplier, but this market niche offers a very high profit margin. Small electronics such as iPods, cell phones, PDAs, digital cameras, etc., sell well on eBay, as customers see them as a bargain due to their reduced price over their brand new retail counterparts. Even though the customer is getting a bargain, you will be purchasing the merchandise at a significantly reduced price from the product manufacturer. Such electrons devices are small and can easily be stored in the home or the garage, meaning there is little cost to maintaining inventory or in shipping the products to anywhere around the world.
 VINTAGE AND THRIFT STORE FINDS
This avenue will be a little trickier, but likely a lot more fun to pursue for your online eBay business. Scour the thrift stores and yard sales, looking for cool and funky things that are no longer being produced, and keep apprised of current trends to ensure that the things you are finding will move once you place them for sale.

A panel of experts discusses and takes questions on the Clean Energy Supply Chain at the Clean Energy Economy Forum. July 16, 2010.

Clean energy won’t work. We are a nation that loves their vans, SUVs and 4×4 trucks. 90% of all vehicles driven are gas guzzlers. What you all need to do is RAISE the cost of gasoline to at least $4.00 a gallon if not more and create a gasoline tax to help pay for the Federal deficit. By the way, the Gulf is totally destroyed, and oil is still gushing under the surface of the ocean-so we need MORE DRILLING-there is nothing left to save. & Pollution will help decrease the surplus population.
Who is hell is that joker who introduced this video? Doesn’t he EVER comb his hair? And his voice gets on my last nerve.
@NookulerFreedom What else do you expect from the Government? The truth? HA!
